Noelle Held is a microbial biogeochemist and oceanographer. Through proteomics and quantitative microscopy, Held studies the inner workings of microbial cells, and how this scales up to ecological function and global scale processes. Held received her Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography and Microbial Biogeochemistry from MIT and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and was a postdoctoral fellow at ETH Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Sciences. She is also a registered yoga teacher.
