Faculty Recruitment

New Faculty Recruitment

The WiSE Program provides funds to supplement and embellish offers made to new faculty in the Viterbi School of Engineering and in the natural sciences and math in the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences.

WiSE Galiban Assistant Professorship

The Gabilan Assistant Professorship is one of the recruitment and retention tools provided by the WiSE program and is awarded to new faculty as part of the start-up package, as well as current junior faculty nominated (typically after the third year review) for exemplary performance.

Lloyd Armstrong Jr. Chair

Awarded for a period of five years to attract or retain an outstanding senior faculty member in engineering, natural science, or math and who will also make significant contributions to the WiSE Program goals.

Gabilan Distinguished Professorship in Science and Engineering

To increase the representation of women in science and engineering and foster a community where faculty and students can thrive by recognizing outstanding mid-career/senior (tenured) faculty who will also make significant contributions to the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) Program goals.

Support for Facilitating Diversity in Faculty Searches

The WiSE Program provides competitively awarded support to WiSE-eligible departments at USC that propose and implement creative ideas for “casting the net widely,” thus increasing the representation of women in science and engineering faculty searches.
