The Fieser group is interested in applying catalysis to address challenges in polymers sustainability. In the lab, this group works to improve the end of life of disposable polymer items through recycling and upcycing, as well as to synthesize degradable polymers as more sustainable substitutes. Outside the lab, the group organizes beach cleanups and educates the general public on consumer choices that can help solve the problems in polymer pollution.
