Speaker: 🎤 Nicoletta Bouzos, PhD Student in Chemical Engineering & Materials Science
Talk: Clathrin: A Potential Generator of Membrane Curvature
Nicoletta Bouzo is a 2nd year PhD student in the Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science under the advisement of Dr. Wade Zeno.
🎤Judith Gauriau, PhD Student in Earth Sciences
Talk: From Single Earthquakes on Isolated Faults to Millennial-scale Collective Plate-Boundary Fault-System Behavior
Judith Gauriau is a 5th-year PhD candidate in the Earth Sciences department. She has a Master’s degree in Engineering Geology from one of the French-leading institution in geosciences. Her PhD has led her to undertake fieldwork in New Zealand and southern California to characterize the past slip behavior of earthquake-generating faults. She generated a new method to classify faults that behave in a consistent manner through time from the ones which have less predictable slip patterns, and has carried out earthquake numerical simulations to unravel the behavior of one of the most periodic faults in the world.
