WiSE Alumni Lecture Series: Diya Dwarakanath

The Women in Science and Engineering Program (WiSE) is hosting a series of talks aimed at connecting undergraduate and graduate students in STEM with USC WiSE alumni this fall semester. Alumni are invited back to share their career path, what helped them persevere, and why they encourage students to continue on their STEM paths.
Speaker: Diya Dwarakanath, M.S. in Biomedical Engineering
Diya is a passionate medical device industry professional and two-time Trojan with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (May 2013) and a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering (May 2017) from USC. She worked in Dr. Ellis Meng’s Biomedical Microsystems Lab at USC as a Merit Research Scholar for 3.5 years on implantable BioMEMS devices. She is currently a Product Development Engineer at DNA Electronics, working in a start-up team to design and develop a complex diagnostic cartridge and overall platform for detecting sepsis. Previously, she worked at Becton Dickinson, Oracle, and Edwards Lifesciences.
